Championship leader Lewis Hamilton has further expanded during Formula 1 Grand Prix in Sochi with his ninth victory of the season his
lead in the title race. Hamilton benefited from off his teammate Rosberg, who was forced to retire early because of a broken pedal. The British Mercedes driver won the Grand Prix of Russia in front of Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel and the Mexican Sergio Perez in the Force India. Defending champion Hamilton now leads the championship with 302 points ahead of Vettel with 236 points and his teammate Nico Rosberg, who retired the end of the 7th round. After a penalty for Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen, Mercedes secured an early constructors world championship of Formula 1.
