This Sunday, October 25th, the Buccaneers vs. Redskins at FedExField in Landover, Maryland. Kickoff is at 1:00 PM EST and Fox will have the live feed.

After last week’s defeat at the New York Jets, Washington is now 2-4 but they have not lost sight of their goal. They are still playing hard and hitting each game with all they’ve got. They will, however, need to fix their situation at cornerback.

Mike Evans #13, TB Buccaneers Wide Receiver

Redskins Coach Jay Gruden released cornerback David Amerson to the Oakland Raiders in week 3 with several options to take his place. But with cornerbacks Chris Culliver and DeAngelo Hall out for a few weeks due to injury, Gruden will have to see how he fixes his hole. As of right now he’s got options. Bashaud Breeland, Will Blackmon, and rookie Kyshoen Jarrett.

Breeland has been playing in Hall’s stead and has full outperformed him. When Culliver and Hall return, Culliver will resume his outside cornerback position. But if Gruden takes out the younger faster, better Breeland, and puts in Hall, it could spell disaster for the Redskins. For their sake I hope Gruden can pull the trigger and bench Hall.

Tampa Bay will be coming from a restful bye week after a nice win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 5 play. The Buccaneers are 2-3 this season. They lost to Tennessee in week 1 with rookie Marcus Mariota driving the Titans. Then Tampa scored a win over the Saints, which at the time was seen as a solid win, but with the way New Orleans has played into the season, a loss to them would have meant serious trouble for the Bucks.

Washington Redskins Quarterback

Tampa Bay is lucky enough to be playing with the number one overall draft pick in 2015, Jameis Winston. He has been superb, and in last week’s game he completed 13 of 19 passes and gained 209 yards with one touchdown. If they can get their offensive line to protect him a bit more, they would be in good shape. Their running backs are looking good too. Doug Martin had 24 rushes last week and gained 123 yards scoring two touchdowns. For Tampa Bay to become a more serious contender, they will need better defending all around.

Washington would do well to come out on top this week. Their next game is against New England, who won’t be easy. Then after a facing a New Orleans team in distress the Redskins will have to face an adamant Carolina side. This game here will be extremely useful for Washington to prepare for what’s to come.

My Prediction: Neither team is an enormous threat but seeing as how they are matched up against each other, this game won’t be a blowout. I’m taking the Buccaneers plus the points on this one. The Bucks are listed as -3.5 underdogs and I say that even though they’ll play in Washington, those three points, and a half will be enough to give them the win over the Redskins.
