Suzuki Motorcycle India has just launched an updated version of its 125cc scooter – the Suzuki Access 125 at a price of 53,887 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Access 125 has always been a refined and high quality 125cc scooters in the Indian two wheeler market since its launch in 2007. It’s been quite popular as well, till Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India stole some thunder with the Activa 125.
With competition increasing, the original Access 125 began to lose its sheen and even started looking dated. So, enter the new 2016 Suzuki Access 125, a facelift and updated version of the original Access 125. Here’s a look at the top five changes in the new Suzuki Access 125.
1. New Design
Overall, the new Suzuki Access 125 has been given a nip tuck in the looks department. The scooter carries the retro style really well and boasts of new curves that give a completely fresh look to this second generation model. The retro looking, new chrome treated headlamp adds character to the redesigned front apron. The revised side panels and clear turn indicators also go quite well with the brand new feel of the scooter.
There’s also the addition of a 3D Access logo, an aluminium grab rail and chrome exhaust muffler cover.
2. New Features
There are handy features too – a one key operated central lock system, a useful front pocket, and even a mobile charging socket. The instrument panel is all-new too, and is a part analog, part digital display, with read-outs for odometer, fuel gauge, service reminder and two trip meters.
3. New Seat and Underseat Storage
Comfort comes on the top of the list for scooter riders and the new Suzuki Access 125 caters to the need flawlessly. The updated Access 125 offers the longest seat in its segment along with the largest under-seat storage which is the best in class at 21 litres. So, there’s ample space to store a helmet or carry a bagful of groceries.
4. New 12-inch front wheel
This new Access 125 comes with a 12-inch alloy wheel at the front which Suzuki has introduced for the very first time. The telescopic suspension at the front is retained. And the increment in the wheel size will provide for a better handling and riding experience to the consumer. Also available will be a variant with a front disk brake, which will be introduced in a few months’ time.
5. SEP Technology
Overall, the engine remains the same as the original Access 125, but Suzuki has equipped the updated scooter with what it calls the SEP technology, or Suzuki Eco Performance. In essence, what this technology does is reduce friction among the moving parts of the engine, providing better performance, more refinement and even improved fuel economy. Suzuki claims the new Access 125 will offer mileage of up to 64kmpl.
