Renault Kwid

Without doubt the most talked about car in India right now especially after Renault shocked everyone with its pricing. For sheer value you just cannot get anything better as for once forget the price and look at the SUV like styling plus you have features like 7 inch MediaNav touchscreen system with an integrated navigation system and it also drives very well. The top-end Kwid is yours at Rs 3.5 lakh which to be honest is a bargain as nothing else offers this much value.

Maruti Alto K10 AMT

Of course the king of small cars has to be Maruti and in their vast range of small cars, our choice is the Alto K10 AMT. The K10 with its 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder K-series engine offers lots of performance with the manual gearbox but the star is the AMT version as its smooth and quite responsive in the city plus being very fuel efficient. The AMT gearbox version is our choice as the convenience that it gives you makes it worth the extra you spend over the manual version.

Hyundai Grand i10

The Grand i10 is one of the best small cars made by Hyundai and in our opinion is worth the extra you pay over an Eon. The styling and more importantly the interior which is the benchmark for quality and features means this is a car that has been doing extremely well ever since its launch. The petrol 1.2 is smooth and offers enough performance. More importantly the Grand i10 feels premium inside out.

New Ford Figo

The newest launch from Ford gets into our list for its fantastic design and true Ford like dynamics. At this price you have the 1.2 petrol which does not have the grunt of the diesel obviously but is a decent motor. More importantly Ford has given driver side airbag standard while the Ambiente version gets dual airbags. The newFigo comes across as a well priced hatch offering lots of value.

Tata GenX Nano AMT

It has taken some time but Tata Motors have got it right with the Nano AMT as the tweaks plus the AMT version has meant that the Nano has become fairly popular now. It looks much better and we just cannot stress how much of an improvement the interior is with the new features and a new look. The small size and the AMT gearbox means that it is the perfect tool to tackle the urban jungle. It is also the cheapest automatic you can buy.
