Struggling student wins new car courtesy of CBS46, Nalley Hyundai

ATLANTA (CBS46) –Christmas came early to an Austell man after he was the grand prize winner of a brand new Hyundai Sonata, compliments of CBS46 and Nalley Hyundai.

Cody Meier was one of 21 winners of a contest held for the past few weeks on CBS46. The contest encouraged viewers to watch the 6 a.m. CBS46 News show and enter code words on CBS46.com for a chance to win a $500 gas card from RaceTrac and a chance at the grand prize, a 2015 Hyundai Sonata.

Meier said the timing couldn’t be better.

“It’s a big relief right now,” said Meier. “It’s like I can drive around for five years and still have a new car. I don’t need Christmas presents. I have this new car.”

Meier said his current vehicle broke down last week and he’s a struggling college student and his mom had to drive him around recently.

Each finalist was given a key to insert into the ignition for their chance to win. The anticipation and excitement grew as each and every finalist stepped behind the wheel.

All were waiting for the magic click and Meier’s key turned over.
