Lava appears set to launch a new budget smartphone in India – the Lava X3. The smartphone is now available to purchase from several online retailers at Rs. 6,499, in White, Silver, and Gold colour variants. We can expect Lava to announce the smartphone officially in the coming days.
As per the listings, the dual-SIM supporting Lava X3 smartphone runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, and features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution display. Under-the-hood, it packs a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor (unspecified), clubbed with 2GB of DDR3 RAM.
The smartphone houses 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (maximum capacity unspecified). The Lava X3 features an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash alongside a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Some of the camera features included in the smartphone are face detection, face beauty, panorama, motion tracking, and live photo. Measuring 72x144x8.45mm, the smartphone weighs 141 grams and is backed by a 2500mAh battery.
On the connectivity front, the X3 sports 3G, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Micro-USB connectivity. It however, misses out on 4G connectivity. The handset is available from Flipkart and Amazon India.
The Lava X3 is the company’s second smartphone under the ‘X’ series. The firm in December last year launched its Lava X10 handset priced at Rs. 11,500. Some of the key features of the handset include 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display; 1.3GHz quad-core processor; 3GB RAM; 13-megapixel rear camera; 5-megapixel front-facing camera; 16GB of built-in storage, and 2900mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
Lava initiated its new year by launching a total of four handsets last month. The company launched its Iris Atom 3, Iris Atom, P7, and V5. The Lava V5 is the company’s camera-focused smartphone, which sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 8-megapixel front camera.
