Honda is expected to unveil it officially at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in Feb, major rivals will be Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster

Honda has again showcased India bound BR-V in Indonesia at Makassar Automotive Exhibition. The BR-V made its world premiere earlier in August at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Booking are already open in Indonesia and prices range from 230-265 Million Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) nearly Rs. 10.80-12.40 lacs. Speaking of its Indian debut, most likely, Honda India will make an official debut of BR-V in the country in Feb next year at the Indian Auto Expo. However, deliveries in Indonesia are slated for early next year, before India.

Honda BR-V

Talking about its engine options, in a recent report in Autocar Professional, Honda Cars India are mulling to put the bigger and more powerful 1.6-liter i-DTEC motor in this BR-V. Currently, except Brio and CR-V, the entire portfolio uses the 1.5-liter i-DTEC motor which produces 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The 1.6-liter diesel motor is available in Europe and produces close to 120 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Apart from the diesel, Honda has confirmed that the BR-V will be powered by the City’s 1.5-liter i-VTEC motor. It produces 120 PS @ 6,600 rpm and a max torque of 145 Nm @ 4,600 rpm. Expect 6-speed manual to be standard in the BR-V as Honda has already confirmed 6-speed manual for the petrol. The petrol will also feature Honda’s CVT automatic gearbox.
