Leaked reports indicate that Hyundai is planning on further expanding the Verna lineup in India by introducing an automatic option in petrol and diesel engine options. It is speculated that the petrol version is likely to get an automatic option in the SX+ variant, while the diesel version will get an automatic option in the SX (O) variant. Mechanically they continue to be powered by existing 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options.

The upcoming Verna SX+ AT petrol is expected to be offered with an additional set of features in the form of wireless charging, small trunk and smart key with push-button start/stop. The diesel SX (O) AT variant, on the other hand, will be offered with an additional set of features in the form of wireless charging and telescopic steering.
