As the nation commemorates Independence Day, car dealerships celebrate with discounted prices on new cars. But you don’t have to wait until the busy, long weekend to shop. Our latest analysis shows that people are getting great deals on cars and SUVs right now.

To find the best car deals for July Fourth, we analyzed national data on actual transactions, comparing sticker prices with what consumers paid, to measure the savings that shoppers are getting. We found that many models are being bought for 15 percent or more off their manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP).

We filtered the deals being offered this month to find the truly good models, those with a strong Overall Score. That factors in a model’s road-test performance, owner satisfaction, reliability, and safety equipment. (Learn more about CR car ratings.)

The 2019 models below are listed in descending order of savings off the MSRP. The current savings on these vehicles are 10 percent to 15 percent off the original price.

Pricing details on these versions and other trims are available on our model pages, along with complete road tests, reliability, owner satisfaction, and other key information. CR members can log in to see the car ratings.
