The 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas is only two months away, and Honda is gearing up for the annual event by demonstrating that the redesigned 2015 Fit is indeed customizable. Launching today on Tumblr, the 2015 Fit SEMA project vehicle program challenges six build teams to modify their own Fit hatchback, which will then be put on display at the upcoming show.
Build teams have already been selected and include Bisimoto Engineering, Kontrabands, MAD Industries, Spoon Sports USA, Tjin Edition and Kenny Vinces. All teams will work on the 2015 Honda Fit up until the show, and enthusiasts can keep track of their progress by visiting the brand’s Tumblr page to check out photos, GIFs, and videos of the project cars. Content on the site will be centered around themes, some of which Honda has revealed such as “Preview,” which reveals design illustrations and renderings and “Show Us Your Mods,” which will highlight five modifications made to the Fit. Some of the modifications we can expect to see on the Fit include aerodynamic body kits, custom wheels, and crazy custom paint jobs. Honda’s Tumblr page will also be the place to go for enthusiasts to cast their vote on their favorite Fit by reblogging posts tagged with the #ProjectFit hashtag. Although all six project vehicles will be on display at the SEMA show, only one will be announced the winner, and the shop that wins will receive a prize from Honda, although it’s unclear what exactly it will be.
