After a lull in both the spirits and the activity of the Indian automotive industry, July 2020 is set to zhuzh things up again. This month will witness a range of upcoming cars and new launches, including a range of new car models across different segments. Among the list will be a sedan, SUV, performance sedan, and a fully electric SUV. Here’s a list of all the car launches July 2020 has in store for the market.
MG Hector Plus
The MG Hector Plus is an upgrade from the 5 seater version of the Hector and offers three rows. Launched in India last year, it was recently listed on the official website and will be offered in three and one variants respectively for six-seat and seven-seat configurations. The MG Hector Plus is expected to be priced around Rs 14.0 Lakh
2020 Honda All New City
The fifth-generation Honda City is set to launch in July. with a range of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options, the highly coveted newer model is set to make its mark. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard while a CVT unit will be available exclusively with the petrol variant.
Audi RS7 Sportback
With the launch of the new Audi RS7 Sportback inching closer, bookings have already begun starting from the base amount of Rs 10 lakh. Along with a multitude of newer updates, the model will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a whopping 591bhp with 800Nm of torque. This engine will be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The new RS7 is expected to priced around Rs 1.5 crore.
Mercedes-Benz EQC
The new Mercedes offering will be the first model to debut under the EQ brand in India and will be powered by two electric motors (one on each axle), producing a combined power output of 400bhp and 765Nm of torque. The EQC will be Mercedes’ first electric SUV and is likely to cost around Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom).
Honda WR-V facelift
With bookings in full swing since March, the new WR-V facelift is a highly anticipated addition to the automotive industry. Honda will be launching the BS6-compliant version of the model on 2 July. Changes to the model will include an updated fascia, feature additions, and the mandated BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines. Prices for the 2020 Honda WR-V starts from Rs 8 Lakhs.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol
Expected to launch in the last week of July, the new Maruti Suzuki petrol-powered S-Cross is creating a big hype in the market. A few dealerships have already begun accepting unofficial bookings for the model, which will rival the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and the Renault Duster. With a 1.5-litre K15B petrol motor producing 103.5bhp with 138Nm of torque, the launch is sure to turn heads. Transmission options will include a five-speed manual unit and a four-speed automatic unit. Also on offer will be the SHVS mild-hybrid technology. The new S-Cross is expected to be priced around Rs 9 Lakhs.
