Two teens arrested after crashing stolen vehicle into used car lot

Two teenagers are now in custody and investigators are looking for a third suspect after the trio “ran” a stolen car into a used car dealership, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

Corporal Paul Mouton said the suspects stole a 2009 Honda CRV from the 200 block of Pershing Street around 10:15 a.m.

The victim chased the suspects in another vehicle until they crashed the CRV into a used car dealership at the corner of Louisiana Avenue and Haig Street.

Police arrested a 15-year-old male and female at the scene. A third suspect was able to get away. The two teens will be booked into juvenile detention on the charge of unauthorized use of a movable, according to Cpl. Mouton.
