Samsung Galaxy S7 Allegedly Explodes, Causing Severe Burns to Owner's Hands

There has been a drastic increase in exploding smartphone cases these days and one of the companies worst hit by the issue has been Samsung. In yet another case, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 flagship allegedly exploded in its owner’s hands while driving, causing severe burns.

A report claims that a Canadian man named Amarjit Mann, aged 34, suffered second and third degree burns on hands when his Samsung Galaxy S7 exploded. Winnipeg Sun cites Mann who claimed that he initially felt “warmness” from the Galaxy S7. “I took it out and had it in my hands and it exploded right away. When you see smoke, I was shocked. You cannot expect this thing. It was like a nightmare,” told Mann.

He had a lucky escape as his car window was open and Mann was reportedly able to throw the phone outside. According to the report, Mann is yet to contact Samsung with his concerns. On the other hand, the South Korean company hasn’t made any statements regarding the incident.

Earlier this month, a similar incident was reported from France. A Samsung Galaxy J5 user in France claimed that his smartphone caught fire and exploded. In another case, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge exploded while on charge last month. The user claimed that he was charging the phone with the original Samsung charger overnight, when it caught fire automatically.

Lately, Samsung has not been the only brand affected by phone explodes problems as users have reported similar issues on new iPhones. Back in September, a Reddit user had reported that his iPhone 7 Plus allegedly exploded in transit. Recently, an Australian woman alleged that she got severe burns due to a charging iPhone 7. The woman shared the experience in a Facebook post and claimed that her recently bought iPhone 7 was on charging while she fell asleep on it.
