Police reveal reasons for four arrests at Bonds Used Cars in Norwich

Mystery had surrounded police activity at Bonds Used Cars, on Ber Stret, on Thursday, with the force refusing to give the reasons why a total of four men had been arrested.

Now, police have said a 34-year-old and a 56-year-old from the Norwich area had been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. The 34-year-old was also suspected of fraud and handling stolen goods.

Both men have been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

A 17-year-old, from Bedfordshire, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, and has also been released on police bail.

Another man, aged 24, and from London, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of drugs.

A police spokesman said: “The 24-year-old, who is believed to have suffered a medical episode at the scene and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, was released from hospital [on Thursday] evening. He is now in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre awaiting questioning by officers.”

She added that officers at Norwich CID are continuing their investigations.

Bonds Used Cars was open for business yesterday, but no-one there wanted to comment on the situation.
