About New Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai revealed India-bound Elantra in November last year at the LA Auto Expo and is planning to bring the overhauled version to the Indian soil. Cosmetic changes apart the saloon will get a slew of new features inside the cabin. Elantra seems to have improved in terms of safety as well. Engine choices will include a petrol and diesel mill.

Compared to the preceding model, the new Elantra will measure 20mm longer and 25mm wider. Styling will be changed too especially in front where the oblong grille will be replaced by a hexagonal grille featuring five chrome slats. The cat-eyed head lamps seem to have been skimmed appearing leaner. Fog lamps are sleek and very modishly designed. The low-lying hood is characterized by sharp lines rising from A pillar. Flank is marked by the notable belt line which extends till tail lamps. Arches are flared and massive tyres placed under it look well-proportioned. A steeply raking wind screen at rear adds to the overall curvaceous styling at back.

New Hyundai Elantra Interiors

The increased dimensions infer a slightly large cabin offering comfortable space to passengers. Styling will be done tastefully and a slew of features are expected to be incorporated inside.

New Hyundai Elantra Engine specification and Transmission

The India bound model is expected to get a 1.6 litre MPI petrol engine and a 1.4 litre T-GDI diesel mill. A 7-speed dual clutch automatic or manual gearbox is likely to be paired to both the engines.

New Hyundai Elantra Competition

Competition in the D segment is fierce with saloons like Chevrolet Cruze, Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis around. Honda’s upcoming Civic will also pose a strong threat to the new Elantra when launched in Indian market.

New Hyundai Elantra Expected Price

Hyundai may price new Elantra between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.

New Hyundai Elantra Expected Launch

The premium saloon is likely to be launched in India on 23 August this year.
