The Indian automobile sector experienced torrid times in 2019 with sales of the major carmakers plunging month-after-month. Still, the year saw some very prominent new introductions like Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Renault Triber and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. Switch to 2020 and the year seems to be beginning on the perfect note with several exciting launches set to take place in January.

Below is the list of all the important vehicles that will be launched in India in January 2020.

Hyundai Aura

Hyundai Aura

Hyundai Motor India will launch the Aura on January 21. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire-rival will be available in 12 variants (four diesel and eight petrol) and six paint schemes. The new Hyundai Aura gets three BS6-compliant engine options (one diesel and two petrol) and several segment-first features. We are expecting the Aura to be priced in the range of Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai Aura bookings are underway and you can book one for yourself by paying Rs 10,000 through the official Hyundai website or a Hyundai dealership.

Tata Altroz

Tata Altroz

Tata Motors will launch the Altroz in India on January 22. The premium hatchback will rival against Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 Elite and Honda Jazz. The new Tata Altroz comes with two BS6-compliant powertrain choices (one each in petrol and diesel). There are 10 variants in total (five each in petrol and diesel). Tata Altroz bookings have started and you can reserve one for yourself by paying Rs 21,000 at any Tata Motors dealership or the official website of the carmaker. The new Altroz might be priced between Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Audi Q8

Audi Q8

Audi will launch the Q8 in India on January 15, bolstering its SUV line-up that currently includes Q3, Q5 and Q7. Powering Audi Q8 will be a 3.0-litre TFSI petrol engine producing nearly 335 hp and 369 Nm of torque. The engine will be offered with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The Q8 will get features like singleframe octagonal grille, LED headlights and turn indicators, tailgate roof spoiler, 22-inch wheels, MMI touch response with dual center displays (10.1-inch upper and 8.6-inch lower) and panoramic sunroof.

MG ZS EV

MG ZS Electric Vehicle

We are expecting MG (Morris Garages) Motor India to launch the ZS electric vehicle later during the month. It will be the carmaker’s second offering after the Hector. MG ZS EV bookings have started in five cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad — for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The new electric vehicle gets a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor and 44.5 kWh liquid-cooled, lithium-ion battery. It will have a range of 340 km on a single charge. MG ZS EV recently bagged a five-star safety rating at the Euro NCAP crash tests. The ZS electric vehicle might be priced around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Nexon EV

Tata Nexon Electric Vehicle

Tata Motors is expected to launch the Nexon electric vehicle in India in January 2020. Tata Nexon EV bookings have started for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The electric vehicle comes with a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor and 30.2 kWh li-ion battery. It will have a range of more than 300 km on a single charge. Tata Nexon EV might be priced between Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
