In terms of positioning within Maruti Suzuki’s own product line, the latest Swift will be placed below the Baleno
TOI has learnt from sources that the new Swift is likely to be priced Rs 60,000 more than the existing range. Which means that the third generation version of one of Maruti Suzuki’s best selling cars is pegged to be priced in the Rs 5.8 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh range (base to top model).
The Swift first arrived in India in 2005 and has till date managed to sell a whopping 17 lakh units of the car.
As far as competition is concerned, the car will take on the likes of the Ford Figo and the Hyundai Grand i10. ( Read our review here )
