Lenovo is largely expected to launch the Moto M smartphone at an event in China on Tuesday. Running up to the launch, there have been several leaks that hint at the smartphone’s design and specification details.
Alongside the Motorola Moto M, Lenovo is also expected to launch the Lenovo P2 smartphone in the country. There have been several additional leaks over the weekend that gives more clarity on the upcoming Moto M, and we detail all the things we know about the smartphone below:
Price
While leaks around the pricing information have been scarce, few reports claim that the Motorola Moto M is expected to be priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,000) on launch day. The smartphone is expected to be offered in two storage variants, and it is unknown if this price is of the top-end or base storage offering.
Design
As mentioned, there have been several leaks of the Motorola Moto M, and the recent leak from PlayfulDroid and Weibo show the smartphone from all angles. All the leaks suggest that the Motorola Moto M will come in Gold and Silver colour variants.
The capsule like camera system at the back, synonymous to all Motorola smartphones remains, and is accompanied by a fingerprint sensor at the back. It is seen donning a full metal body with antenna bands on the top and bottom edges at the back. There is no Home Button at the front, and the navigation buttons are expected to be fitted onscreen. The volume and power buttons are housed on the left edge, and the Moto M is seen sporting a dual speaker system at the bottom.
Specifications
The Motorola Moto M has also been listed on the certification site, among other leaks that have poured in sporadically. All of these leaks have thrown a lot of light on the specifications, leaving very little to the imagination. The Motorola Moto M features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, with a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio P15 octa-core CPU powering the smartphone. It offers 4GB of RAM, and 32GB/64GB native storage.
Coming to the camera, there is a 16-megapixel camera with flash, and PDAF. At the front, there is a 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video chatting. It packs a 3050mAh battery with support for fast charging. It is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, and will come bundled with preloaded Microsoft apps like Skype, Office, and OneDrive. Leaked promotional images also hint at a nano-coating technology that will protect the Moto M from splashes and slight rain.x
