Maruti Suzuki India has revealed that till 1st April, 2016, the company has received nearly 35,000 booking for its sub-compact SUV – Vitara Brezza. The carmaker has already over 5500 units of the car to its dealerships across the country. What’s interesting here is that the maximum number of booking the carmaker has received is for the top-of-the-line ZD+ variant particularly with the dual tone colour scheme.
Last month Maruti Suzuki launched the much awaited Vitara Brezza, its first sub-4 metre SUV for the Indian market. With an appealing design language and a stylish exterior profile, the SUV came with a host of features, which garnered lot of appreciation from critics and customers alike. Some of the segment first features include – A touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and SmartLink along with navigation, projector headlamps with LED guide lights, and three attractive dual tone body colour options.
Under the hood the Maruti Vitara Brezza is being offered with only a diesel engine for now – the 1.3-litre four-cylinder DDiS 200 tuned to produce 89bhp of power at 4000rpm along with 200Nm of torque at 1750rpm. The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Vitara Brezza also manages to beat its rivals in the department of fuel-efficiency; it offers an ARAI-certified mileage of 24.3Km/l.
The Vitara Brezza is the second product launched in the last fiscal that has been working wonders for the Indo-Japanese carmaker. The Baleno premium hatch saw some similar success in the initial months of its launch. Within a month from its launch the Baleno has received 21,000 bookings and double of that in the month after. And the fact that most of the features from the Baleno have been used in the making of the Vitara Brezza indicates that history will repeat itself.
