Deliveries for the much awaited Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza are all set to commence from March 25. While the carmaker started accepting bookings from the day of the launch itself, deliveries were set begin from March-end. The Vitara Brezza has been one of the most anticipated cars for 2016 and it also marks Maruti’s for first sub-4 metre SUV for the Indian car market. The Vitara Brezza will be retailed via regular Maruti Suzuki showrooms and will be available in the carmaker’s 1,800 sales outlets spread across India.
Within the first fortnight of its launch, the Vitara Brezza has received around 70,000 customer enquiries and 20,000 bookings. R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Maruti Suzuki India while announcing the start of retail sales of the Vitara Brezza said, “We are delighted at customers’ response to Vitara Brezza. They have appreciated it for its sporty and muscular design and the combination of features offered at multiple trim levels. Our endeavour now is to deliver these cars quickly so that customers can enjoy their Vitara Brezza.”
Coming to the car itself, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is available in seven different variants namely – LDI, LDI (O), VDI, VDI (O), ZDI, ZDI+ and ZD+ (Dual Tone). Moreover the car will be available in only engine option, which is the 1.3-litre DDiS oil burner churning out a maximum of 89bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handles by a sole 5-speed manual gearbox with no current plans for an AMT unit. Additionally the Vitara Brezza offers outstanding fuel efficiency of 24.3 km per litre, making it the highest in the SUV category and 10-12% superior to other SUVs
In terms of looks and design the car shares most of its design and style cues with its elder cousin Suzuki Vitara SUV. With some stylish exterior features like projector headlamps, guide lights, floating-roof design and dual tone body colour option the Vitara Brezza is undoubtedly the most stylish subcompact SUV in its class. The car gets a sporty stance thanks to the aggressive front fascia, squared wheel arches with plastic under body cladding, and muscular character lines among others small additions. The Vitara Brezza also offers some class-leading features like Apple CarPlay, Mirror Link, and touchscreen Navigation along with safety features like driver side air bags as standard and passenger side airbags, ABS and EBD as optional right from base variant.
