Maruti Suzuki plans to stop producing BSIV vehicles by the end of 2019. While there might be a few deliveries post Dec 2019, but that would depend if the vehicle can be registered before 31st March 2020. But largely production of BSIV vehicles will come to a halt by Dec 2019.
Also according to Maruti, the BSVI diesels will also be significantly more expensive than their BSVI petrol counterparts and as a result sales might take a hit. The price difference will be in the region of a whopping Rs. 2.5 lakh.
The government had earlier decided to skip BSV standard completely and move on to BSVI emissions which will be implemented on a pan India basis from April 1, 2020.
