Huawei has launched its new smartphone, the Mate 9 Pro, in China. The smartphone is essentially a more premium version of company’s smartphone Huawei Mate 9, which was launched earlier this month, with upgraded specifications. The smartphone will be available in Champagne Gold, Space Gray, Mocha Brown, Moonlight Silver, and Ceramic White colours.
The China launch was reported by Android Headlines, which notes the dual-SIM Huawei Mate 9 Pro runs on company’s Emotion UI 5.0 on top of Android 7.0 Nougat. It sports a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) curved AMOLED display – the biggest difference between the Mate 9 Pro and the Mate 9. The smartphone packs a 2.5GHz octa-core Kirin 960 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM.
In terms of optics, Huawei Mate 9 Pro comes with a dual-camera setup at the back with 20-megapixel monochrome lens and 12-megapixel RGB sensors with Leica lenses. The dual camera setup is tagged with dual-tone LED flash. The smartphone comes with a 8-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. The camera setup comes with optical image stabilisation capability.
It comes with inbuilt storage options of 64GB and 128GB and memory options of 4GB and 6GB of RAM. The 4GB variant of the smartphone has been priced by the company at CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 46,500) while the 6GB RAM variant of the smartphone has been priced at CNY 5,299 (roughly Rs. 52,500). The Huawei Mate 9 Pro comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back.
The smartphone houses a large 4000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity the Huawei Mate 9 Pro offers options like GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The phone measures 152x75x7.5mm.
