The Honda Civic hatchback will be making its global debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show and will be on sale in Europe from the beginning of 2017. For those who wouldn’t know, the Civic nameplate has been a best-seller for the Japanese company for the longest time now. Honda also says that the Civic range has had the maximum amount of research and development going for it in its tenth edition. The new Civic hatchback will be built at Honda’s Swindon plant in UK and it has received investment worth £200 million for ramping up the production of the Civic hatch for sale across Europe. Although there is no official confirmation but Honda will offer a variety of engine variants on the new Civic hatchback starting from a 1.0-litre engine along with a 1.4-litre and 1.5-litre engines, all of the petrol versions of course.
There might also be a hybrid version on its way, a few months down the line. Also, the fully loaded Type R will be revealed a few months later. It presently gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine which has a peak power output of 306bhp or thereabouts. While the Honda Civic hatchback has been around in Europe for the longest time, Honda has no such plans for India in the near future.
