Blu Energy XL With 6-Inch Display, 5000mAh Battery Launched

US-based smartphone maker Blu has launched its new smartphone, the Blu Energy XL. It is now available exclusively via Amazon.com at $299 (approximately Rs. 20,000) for the unlocked version. The Blu Energy XL smartphone comes with support for 4G LTE and is compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T networks in the US. The company, as of now, has not revealed availability details for the Energy XL smartphone outside the US.

The biggest highlight of the Blu Energy XL is its huge 5000mAh battery which also supports quick charging. The company claims that a 10 minute charge offers Energy XL up to four hours of talk time. The new Blu smartphone can be expected to compete with the Asus ZenFone Max (2016)  which also boasts a 5000mAh battery.

The Blu Energy XL smartphone features a 6-inch full-HD Super Amoled display with pixel density of 367ppi. The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Energy XL will receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow by end of this year, says the company. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek 6753 processor with Mali-T720 graphics GPU and 3GB of RAM. The Blue Energy XL also sports a fingerprint scanner at the back.

The latest Blu offering also features a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash module. It can record full-HD (1080p) videos at 30fps. It also houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone bears 64GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 64GB).

The Blu Energy XL includes connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, USB Type-C 2.0, and A-GPS, apart from 4G LTE. The smartphone is available in Gold and Silver colours.

Announcing the new smartphone, Samuel Ohev-Zion, CEO Blu Products said, “The Blu Energy XL offers everything someone can ask for in terms of specs and performance in a high-end smartphone. All while resolving the single biggest problem smartphone user’s face today, which is battery life.”
