THE SEAT Leon has been crowned as the best used car money can buy – and it’s an absolute bargain.
The 2013 family hatchback was named winner by What Car?’s expert judges who said it combined driving fun, quality, safety and kerb appeal.
And you can pick up a good example with full service history for just £6,000.
The model is still on sale and even the range-topping, lowest-mileage used Leons are available for less than £14,000.
Buying used could be the perfect tonic to beating the new diesel car taxes announced in today’s Budget.
The popular Leon is “outstanding value for money” but with a “dash of flair” that makes it stand out from rivals, according to What Car?.
It beat the Kia Cee’d and Ford Focus to best family hatch – and then saw of SUVs, superminis and luxury saloons for overall top spot.
Other class winners included the evergreen Ford Fiesta – and its hot hatch sibling, the ST.
And you can’t go far wrong with an Audi, either, as it came out top in three categories thanks to the TT, Q7 and R8.
