New Delhi: Bajaj Auto on Tuesday reported a 1.78 per cent increase in total sales at 2,93,939 units last month as against 2,88,746 units in January 2015.
Motorcycle sales during the month grew 2.44 per cent to 2,52,988 units as against 2,46,955 units in the corresponding period a year ago, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
Bajaj Auto’s commercial vehicles sales stood at 40,951 units compared with 41,791 units in the year-ago period, down 2 per cent.
Exports during the month were at 1,32,069 units as against 1,42,992 units in January last year, down 7.63 per cent, it said.
At 1:17 p.m., shares in Bajaj Auto were trading 1.42 per cent higher at Rs 2,361.10 apiece on the BSE, whose benchmark Sensex index was down 0.10 per cent.
