Dealerships from many mass-market carmakers are now offering significant discounts and benefits on a number of models during the month of February. Some, like Maruti Suzuki, are looking to clear stocks of older models (the previous-gen Wagon R and pre-facelift Baleno) while others hope to boost sales of their slower-selling models.

HATCHBACKS

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R (previous-gen)

Save up to Rs 1 lakh
Maruti Suzuki’s popular tall-boy hatchback has been replaced by an all-new Wagon R. As a result, unsold stocks of the older generation of the hatchback are being offered at massive discounts in order to clear inventory. Some outlets are offering benefits of around Rs 1 lakh on the model, which is powered by a 68hp, 1.0-litre petrol with manual and AMT options.

Renault Kwid

Save up to Rs 85,000
Renault dealers are offering benefits on the Kwid hatchback, which include cash discounts and other freebies. The model will get an update soon so as to maintain the new standard of equipment, especially in terms of safety kit. Total available benefits on the model are in the tune of Rs 85,000. More discounts are expected on unsold 2018 stocks. The Kiwd comes with a 0.8-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre petrol engine – the former is mated to 5-speed manual only while the latter gets manual and AMT options.

2018 Ford Figo

Save up to Rs 65,000
The Figo is one of the slowest-selling models for the brand and an update is due soon.  The Figo takes on models like the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10. Discounts and benefits in the range of Rs 65,000 are on offer. Haggle hard and you might end up saving a bit more on this practical hatchback. For now, the Ford gets an 88hp, 1.2-litre petrol and a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel, though when the facelift arrives, the former will be replaced by the new 96hp, 1.2-litre petrol motor that currently powers the Freestyle and Aspire.

2019 Maruti Suzuki Baleno

Save up to Rs 45,000
Stocks of the 2019 pre-facelift Baleno are soon running out as dealers have now begun getting the recently launched updated model. Discounts in most outlets are in the range of Rs 45,000. The Baleno is a strong rival to the Hyundai i20 and the Honda Jazz and is on offer with an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol and a 75hp, 1.3-litre diesel motor.

SEDANS

2018 Hyundai Elantra

Save up to Rs 1.5 lakh
The Elantra is a strong rival to the Corolla and the Octavia. Unsold stocks of the 2018 model are on offer at attractive benefits ranging around Rs 1-1.5 lakh at some locations. The Hyundai executive sedan is offered with refined petrol and diesel engines – a 152hp, 2.0-litre petrol and a 128hp, 1.6-litre diesel.

2018 Honda City

Save up to Rs 1.4 lakh
The Honda City is a tried and tested name as far as mid-sized sedans go. A strong rival to the Verna and the Ciaz, Honda’s bread-and-butter sedan comes with a refined petrol engine as well as a diesel engine option. There is no diesel-automatic variant on offer but the list of features is long enough to give strong competition to its rivals. Unsold stocks from the 2018 batch are being offered at discounts of a whopping Rs 1.4 lakh at select locations.

Tata Tigor

Save up to Rs 65,000
The Tata Tigor recently got a small update and now features a touchscreen system for higher variants. Dealers are offering discounts and benefits of around Rs 65,000 on most variants. Discounts are likely to be more on unsold 2018 stocks.

2019 Hyundai Verna

Save up to Rs 55,000
The new Hyundai Verna is a strong rival to the Toyota Yaris, Honda City and the Maruti Ciaz. It comes with refined engines and a long list of equipment. Additionally, the Verna also gets the most sought-after diesel-automatic variant. A few dealers are offering discounts on this capable Hyundai sedan in the range of Rs 55,000.

SUVS

2018 New Honda CR-V

Save up to Rs 1.25 lakh
The newly launched latest-gen CR-V comes with a diesel engine for the first time and also sports a seven-seater option. Honda dealers are offering discounts and benefits going up to Rs 1.25 lakh on the 2018 stocks while the 2019 stocks are being offered at discounts of around Rs 50,000 at most showrooms.

Mahindra KUV100 NXT

Save up to Rs 1 lakh
The KUV100 is Mahindra’s first cross-hatchback and is expected to see more rivals in future. The slow-selling Mahindra comes with petrol and diesel engine options and is decently equipped, too. Discounts to the tune of Rs 1 lakh are likely to be offered at most locations thanks to unsold inventory.

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross (Sigma and Delta)

Save up to Rs 85,000
The lower-spec S-Cross Sigma and Delta variants offer a decent amount of kit for their price tags and come with a tried and tested, 1.3-litre diesel engine. Dealers are offering discounts and benefits up to Rs 85,000 on both these variants at some locations.

Honda WR-V

Save up to Rs 50,000
The Honda WR-V cross-hatch takes on the Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks. The rugged Honda is now being offered at benefits of around Rs 50,000 depending on inventory. It comes with a refined petrol motor and a decent diesel engine option. There is no automatic gearbox on offer.
