A new teaser image of an upcoming concept car from Datsun has surfaced. This vehicle will make its global debut at the soon to be held Tokyo Motor Show during the latter part of this month.
While there is no confirmation of this, it is rumoured that this vehicle could be the concept version of the Datsun Redi-Go, a crossover version of the Datsun Go hatchback. The production version of this hatchback could go on sale some time next year. The Red-Go concept was first shown to Indian car buyers at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo held at Greater Noida, outside New Delhi.
The teaser image shows a beautifully sculpted headlight unit with an LED daytime running lamp strip, a round fog lamp, the familiar hexagonal Datsun front grille and what appears to be black cladding on the wheel arch. Since this car will directly target the Renault Kwid, Datsun will build this car on its CMF-A platform and it will also feature high levels of locally sourced components. Also like the Kwid, the Redi-Go could have an 800 cc petrol engine under its bonnet. Datsun will definitely go for a combination of a generous equipment list and low price to keep the desirability factor of the Redi-Go as high as possible.
