“In the essay they tell us how winning a car would better their lives, and give them a boost on making their lives better. The applicants have to be a single parent, male or female, have a valid drivers license, currently does not own a car, and be insurable,” explains Lindsey Meeks, Office Manager.
Courtney Bostain-Allbritton is this year’s winner. She says the 2009 Toyota Camry will change her way of life.
“I’m just thinking of all the things that I couldn’t do before that I am now able to do, and it is just, I mean like every time I start thinking about it you just want to break down and get all emotional because, it is just phenomenal,” says Courtney Bostain-Allbritton, Car Recipient.
Courtney says the car will also make things better for her son.
“Drive back and forth from work is major, go to Walmart to get groceries, major, you know to be able to drive to church,” explains Courtney.
Meeks says that autobody shops across North America are helping families in need by repairing cars that have been “written off” by insurance companies or owners after collisions. Murphy’s autobody and frame believes this is a way to give back.
“Doing this every year lets us give back to the community. The community gives to us so much, I mean through-out the year, they are always you know bringing cars in, helping us do anything we ask; and this is our way of giving back to the community and helping a special someone,” explains Meeks.
Courtney is grateful for this new start.
“I thank absolutely every single one of the sponsors that had any touch in this, even if it was just their thoughts, you know just every part of the community,” says Courtney.
Courtney’s son Noah didn’t leave empty handed, walking away presents as well.
