Why should you buy- Next Generation Maruti Ertiga

The second generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been launched in India in the range Rs 7.44 lakhs to Rs 10.90 lakhs. There’s 10 variants, five colours and automatic option for the petrol powered model. We’ve told you everything there is to know about the Ertiga and well, here are the highs and lows of buying one.

What’s good about it?
You get (almost) seven-seat capacity for just a shade under Rs 11 lakhs and that’s the top-of-the-line model with all the bells and whistles. In fact, if you go for one of the lower spec models, you lose out on the touchscreen system and leather trim for the steering wheel. You can also consider the fact that all versions of the Ertiga now come with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and for the AT variants, you even get hill-hold function.

What’s not so good?
There is no diesel AT option or a top-of-the-line AT option for the car. It’s mostly the former that we are ruing as it fast becoming a popular option among buyers and in the case of the latter, we expect that Maruti Suzuki will launch it as a planned update for the car at a later date.
The best variant to buy?
ZXi/ZDi/ZXi AT as these offer most of the bells and whistles found in this new generation Ertiga.
