Audi is recalling around 50,000 2012 through 2014 A6 and A7 models due to the risk of the fuel line leaking and increasing the risk of a vehicle fire.

The Volkswagen luxury division reports in National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents that a compression point in the affected A6 and A7s could weaken and result in a fuel leak. The Associated Press reports the total number of vehicles recalled is more than 52,000 in the U.S. and Canada.

Audi says that it will notify owners of the luxury models starting Feb. 5, 2018. Once the notification process starts, dealers will replace the affected fuel lines free of charge.

“The fuel line was designed with a compression point to assist in installation. Due to manufacturing tolerance issues, this part of the fuel line may weaken and leak over time,” NHTSA documents read.

The recalled models were manufactured between March 28, 2011, and Sept. 13, 2013.

Affected owners are advised to look out for a fuel odor when the fuel line’s compression point begins to weaken. According to the NHTSA, the problem started coming up in June 2014 when Audi’s Product Safety Committee was presented with a number of fuel line leaking reports.
