The proud British owner of a Ferrari 430 Scuderia had one hour to enjoy his $260,000 luxury vehicle this week before it was turned into a flaming pile of twisted metal.

South Yorkshire Police responding to an accident on Thursday found themselves staring at the charred remains of a black Ferrari and the owner — miraculously alive with a few cuts and bruises — in a local field.

“Officers asked the driver what sort of car he ‘had’ to which he replied, ‘it was a Ferrari,’” BBC reported Friday. “Detecting a sense of damaged pride he then said ‘I’ve only just got it, picked it up an hour ago.’”

Authorities said on their Facebook page that the car “went airborne” due to wet roads.

“Over the past couple of weeks there has been a number of collisions where driving styles have not reflected the road and weather conditions,” South Yorkshire Police said, BBC reported. “Please take more care.”
