Similar to its siblings, the new Civic hatch and sedan, the 2016 Civic Coupe is expected to come equipped with turbocharged four-cylinder in-line powerplants of 1.5 liters along with CVT transmissions and six-speed manual. The car’s entry-level model will also come with a 1.8-liter engine.

The highly anticipated 2016 Civic Coupe is said to be unveiled at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show which is slated to commence in the next couple of days. Honda plans to launch the coupe model of the 10th-generation Civic within the coming months in North America.

Back in early April, Tech Times reported that Honda’s upcoming vehicle will boast a sportier look and will be available in four distinct models: the sedan, Si, Type-R and coupe.

Executive VP John Mendel at American Honda said, “The new Civic will be, flat out, the most dynamic, the most technologically advanced and the most refined and stylish Civic we’ve ever made.”

While it is true that the 2016 Honda Civic sedan has just started to go on sale, it will soon be joined by the new two-door Civic coupe slated to be unveiled next week at the auto show.

Some of the features that customers can look forward to in the new Civic Coupe include sporty performance, cabin quietness, ride refinement, class-leading fuel efficiency and advanced safety features.

The Civic Coupe will be unveiled along with the Clarity FCV, a five-passenger sedan from Honda which showcases the company’s commitment to the advanced technology of manufacturing alternative-fuel vehicles.

“The FCV uses a compact fuel cell, which makes for a short 3 to 5 minute refueling time and a spacious interior. With a powerful yet incredibly compact fuel cell, the FCV targets a driving range of over 300 miles,” said Honda on its official site.

The Clarity fuel cell vehicle debuted to car enthusiasts at the Tokyo Motor Show held in October while the 10th-generation Civic debuted at the New York International Auto Show on April 1.

One thing that remains unclear is if the United States-designed coupe was developed to cater to right-hand drive customers. If this proves to be negative, the car would probably be unavailable for purchase in Australia.

Future launches from Honda include a five-door hatchback as well as two performance models, the Civic Si and the Civic Type R which is said to have a more hardcore design.
