The Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback has been recently exported to Japan through the Adani Port, Mundra in Gujarat. Maruti Suzuki has become the first manufacturer to export a locally made car in India to Japan.
The first batch of the Baleno hatchbacks are already on their way to Japan, where Suzuki (Maruti Suzuki’s parent company) is also located. This also marks the first time ever that any domestic manufacturer in India has shipped a locally made product to the parent company’s homeland. This was also a plan of the manufacturer under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Maruti Suzuki wants to make India as the manufacturing hub and aims to export products from our country to over 100 countries. They have started with Japan and will continue their exports to European countries like Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Spain as well. All of this is under Suzuki’s global strategy and their export plans will be further determined by the Baleno hatchback’s success overseas.
