WASHINGTON, December 4, 2015 – This year at the LA Auto Show, crossovers were just as buzzworthy as the latest concept car or luxury vehicle.
It was all about finding the one—the crossover that’s compatible to the driver’s lifestyle, image, experiences and budget.
Show-goers got inside of the SUVs with friends and tote bags to see how comfortably everyone and everything could fit. Drivers got behind the wheel of the vehicle and took selfies or posed for pictures to see if the design complemented their personal style.
They synced their phones with the SUVs technology to see if it could keep up with their lifestyle and ever-changing needs. The overall car buying experience has changed and crossovers proved that they could keep up with the pace.
Judging by the interest from car consumers at the LA Auto Show, crossovers seem to fit in with multiple crowds including millennials and families with 2.5 children. However, picking the right one is strikingly similar to picking the right romantic mate. If you’re looking for a crossover with spunk and appeal, check out the 2017 Kia Sportage. It’s a curvaceous crossover that wins in the areas of space and functionality.

It features EcoBoost, which gives the vehicle great fuel economy without compromising its performance in addition to an engine that mimics the 2015 Lincoln MKC and the Ford Mustang.
Pair its performance with its tech features such as an upgraded infotainment system, USB ports throughout the cabin and an enhanced self-parking system with perpendicular capability and pull-out assist and you’ve got a winner.
Check out something flirty but not overwhelming. Combine the sleekness of a sports car and the space of a SUV and you’ll get the Mazda CX 3. This subcompact SUV (a little shy of being a full-fledged crossover in terms of size) provides maneuverability (from the sports car side) along with roominess and a “high riding” feeling (from the SUV side). It can handle city streets and steep hills without missing a beat.
Crossovers are not really synonymous with space, but the Buick Enclave wants to shatter that notion. With three rows of seating plus storage, the 5-star safety rated Enclave is almost a graduated version of a crossover that’s a couple of specs shy of being a full-sized SUV.
The IntelliLink system is perfect for syncing your phone’s playlist and contacts to enjoy your ride. This vehicle exudes sophistication with a touch of sass.
If you want something that piques the curiosity of onlookers and keeps you on their mind, try the Evoque. Land Rover debuted the Evoque, which can make you go “ooooh” or “huh?” It’s a playful mix of a crossover and a cabriolet with its most eye-catching feature being the fabric covered drop top.
It’s a Land Rover, so you can expect luxury and style with ruggedness and versatility. However, this crossover also adds in a bit of subcompact spacing, sports car curves, and full-size SUV bulkiness. It features a 10.2 inch infotainment system with a customizable home screen that provides quick access to preferred apps, navigation points or contacts and a 360 degree camera to make parking a recreational activity rather than a bother.
The Evoque is perfect for consumers who like to make onlookers rub their chins or spark conversations about their rides.
These six vehicles exhibited their styling versatility, off-road or city street handling, sleek designs and technology integrations to pique the interests of consumers who are looking for something “extra” or “different” in their next car purchase.
While there are plenty of crossovers on the lot as much as there are fish in the sea, car enthusiasts can certainly take their pick from this list of some of the hottest crossovers to lookout for in the upcoming year and find the one that makes them happy.
